ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS
Applications are approved according to the best home environment for the pet, and not a "first come first serve" basis. Fosters will typically get first pick if they choose to adopt, as long as they meet the same requirements. Out of state rescues are also given the opportunity to "tag" animals available for adoption as well.
Several factors determine our final decision and each case is not a "one size fits all" situation. Please answer or explain each question thoroughly to assist with our decision making process.
Spaying/neutering is not a personal choice and will result in your application being rejected if you aren't willing to adhere to it. The State of Texas requires all adopted animals to be sterilized within 30 days of adoption or 30 days of an infant animal being old enough to sterilize. (Chapter 828, Health and Safety Code)
Adoption fees vary for each animal, and are dependent on the current amount of vetting, pending appointments, and other miscellaneous fees, which will be discussed and itemized prior to adoption. We do our best to keep fees reasonable to ensure adoption is possible for everyone.
